So light, you may not believe that it has a powerful 1800 watt motor inside it. Yet, this remarkable appliance also uses some of the very latest cutting-edge technology to deliver perfect results, every time. The T3 Featherweight has few faults.
It’s called the Featherweight because the whole dryer weighs only 13 oz. Compare this to most other high-end blow dryers that are fitted with an 1800 watt motor; you find many are nearly twice this weight. Of course, the lightness of the Featherweight makes it very easy to use. This, in conjunction, with the gently cured handle and middle mounted switches makes it a very ergonomic design.
The ease of use it greatly enhanced by the use of tourmaline. In case you don’t know, tourmaline is a natural gemstone that naturally emits large quantities of things called negative ions. These ions break down water drops in to much smaller droplets than can be absorbed into a hair shaft. The negative ions also seal the cuticle, locking in the moisture. This leaves hair with less static (frizziness) and less heat damage. By breaking down the water droplets, drying time is also greatly reduced, by as much as 60%.
Like most people I like T3 hair dryers but I could never understand why these tourmaline hair dryers cost so much more than other manufacturer’s versions. It wasn’t until I found out that all of the tourmaline components used in all T3 dryers are made from 100% crushed tourmaline; they’re not just ceramic that been coated with tourmaline.
This means the appliance also lasts longer (the ionic spray-coating commonly used on other brands tends to wear off quickly) and the T3 also produces more negative ions than other tourmaline dryers, which means drying time is faster and hair retains more moisture.
With all this technology and how it’s used it really is hard to find fault with the T3 Tourmaline Featherweight however, I do wish that there were more heat/speed settings. You get 2 heat/speed settings and cool-shot. This is fine but it would be nice to have a few more settings – the T3 Evolution comes with 4 heat and 2 speed settings. This restriction is probably due to the motor being smaller than the Evolution (2000 watts).
Apart from that, there’s nothing I can saying against it. The T3 Tourmaline Featherweight hair dryer would be a great purchase for those that can afford it and that want one of the best tourmaline hair dryers on the market today.
